Printing paper box
What is the printing process of paper boxes?
The printing process of paper boxes is a complex and intricate process, usually including the following steps:
1. Pre press preparation
-Design and production: Firstly, the designer will design printing patterns and text based on the purpose and brand image of the cardboard box.
-Color separation processing: Separate the design according to the printing colors. The common printing method is four-color printing (CMYK), which includes cyan, magenta, yellow, and black.
-Sample making: Produce a printed sample to confirm whether the color, graphic position, and overall effect meet the design requirements.
2. Preparation of printing machine
-Equipment selection: Choose a suitable printing machine based on the material, size, and printing requirements of the paper box, such as offset printing machine, flexographic printing machine, screen printing machine, etc.
-Upper version: Install the separated printing plate onto the printing machine and adjust the level and alignment of the printing plate.
3. Printing process
-Ink coating: Apply printing ink on the printing plate, paying attention to the thickness and uniformity of the ink.
-Imprinting: The ink coated printing plate is pressed onto the paper box material by a printing machine. Different printing methods have different embossing methods:
-Offset printing: using a rubber cylinder to transfer ink onto paper.
-Flexographic printing: using soft rubber or silicone rollers for printing.
-Screen printing: Ink is pressed onto paper through the fine pores of a fine mesh plate.
-Drying: The printed paper needs to be dried using a drying device to remove excess ink and moisture.
4. Post processing
-Film coating: Covering the printed paper with a protective film to increase wear resistance and waterproofing.
-Hot stamping/silver stamping: Applying heat and pressure on the printed pattern to attach the metal foil to the surface of the paper, increasing the visual effect.
-Die cutting: Cut the paper box according to its final shape to form an independent paper box.
5. Inspection and Packaging
-Quality inspection: Check the printed paper box to ensure that there are no printing errors, damages, or other issues.
-Packaging: Pack the inspected paper boxes and prepare them for shipment or further processing.
The entire printing process requires precise mechanical operation and skilled worker skills to ensure the quality and efficiency of the printing effect.
